A few things to know before you draw
Is The Procrastination Hat free?
Yes. You can create hats, collect notes and draw results without an account. There is an optional Buy Me a Coffee link if you would like to support the site.
Is this a random name generator?
It is a random name picker: it draws from names you enter rather than generating fictional names. Use a plain options hat to pick one name, or people mode to give everyone a different person.
Can someone draw their own name?
In people mode, no. Each person gets a different name, with no duplicate recipients. Named contribution hats also keep each person’s own submitted notes out of their draw. An ordinary options hat does not apply identity-based exclusions.
Can the organiser see who wrote each note?
The management page shows participation, not note contents or who wrote each note. Drawn notes appear without author names. Avoid signing notes or adding details that identify you.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Create the hat and use the contribution or draw link in your browser. Keep your private management link safe so you can return to manage the same hat.
